For many years now, I've been close friends with an artist who lives in Beirut. She was shot by an Israeli sniper during the last war, when she was 10 years old...
...yet I have never heard a word of bitterness or hatred from her. She's all about forgiveness and hope, ever since I've known her.
She and her family are now hunkered down in an apartment in Beirut, with food and medicine running out, and constant shelling still coming in from the Israeli Navy...
She writes:

they are trying to make peace by force, and peace never comes by force.
