I was on my way back home from the school run this morning when I happened to be behind a very slow bus. Know the feeling? I don't want to be late for work, but I can't overtake and so I just give up worrying.
Then I start reading the add at the rear of the bus. It shows a bag of supposedly sacrament and it says in big letters "DRUG DRIVING" It could cost you £5,000, that's about 7/8,000 $ or Euros. Now I think to myself... hey! This has never happen before, it's the first time I read this crap. Don't they know that people who use the sacrament are actually better drivers? How are they going to assess whether I had the sacrament yesterday, today, a week ago? What is this all about?
I felt annoyed.
Wanted to share.
What's going on?
Late for work, I better go. I'll be back later! _________________

Oh well, they just don't know do they?
Maybe ignorance is bliss (sorry Ben ) but that kind of ignorant thinking is not for me!

Well..they DO know.
ALL scientific evidence and tests regarding cannabis and driving has proven that cannabis has a POSITIVE influence on driving, people drive more relax and careful being stoned. There has been research in the UK also and they know.
BTW... last week in Germany the high court has desided that a little THC in the blood (forgot the exact amount) while driving is allowed. _________________ █ Please read the Board Rules and Posting, and you

I am back! It's been a busy day... time to chill out now
Probably many people will not appreciate the extent of the absurdity of the add I have seen this morning, mainly because in many countries this kind of propaganda has been going on for ages and there are places where you would probably get a jail sentence for having the sacrament, full stop. But here in the UK this is something new and it has shocked me.
I have questions I didn't find answers for, yet. Are they going to enforce testings on drivers? Is this another way for getting money out of us, the people? And WHO exactly is behind it? I want the names, the add was not signed... cowards!
And then I had this idea floating in my head. It's something I have been thinking about for a while. It's a counter-attack operation. The busses in my area should have the THC-Ministry LOGO, I thought. All it takes is some fund raising (I better work on that one) and a few slow busses _________________

I'm with you on all of the above, Echo.
My thinking is that what you're seeing there is a direct reflection of Blair's recent tendency toward American tactics on the 'drug war', just as with the other western ideologies that he seems to have picked up from his buddy Bush. I'm guessing from what I see in the British media that it's not going to go over very well in your country, but the US may be figuring "where better to start pressing the drug war mentality than in one of the few nations that supports us on the Iraq disaster."
I'd say make a stink if possible, the whole world needs to know that the US's failed policies on drug issues are just as useless anywhere else in the world. The only catch might be that your government may not be responsible for the ad directly, and it could be someone acting on their behalf who is being used in the same way that the swiftboat people were used by Bush to attack John Kerry's credibility.
Either way it's bullshit - and it needs to be stopped immediately by whatever means necessary before the same thing spreads throughout Europe, the way that the Radical Republicans want it to.
